Security Policy: Our Commitment to Secure Connections
This security statement will notify you of the kind of security procedures that are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under our control.
This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
When you are asked to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. While on a secure page, such as our order and registration forms, the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when you are just “surfing.”
A Bit About SSL:
Secure connections (often called SSL, or Secure Sockets Layer technology) are the industry standard in Web security. SSL is used primarily for transmitting sensitive information over the Internet. When you have a secure connection between your browser and a website, no one else can easily access the data that you send across the connection.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user information offline. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a spehttps://admin.caleres.com/ContentAdmin/shopcontent.aspx?contentID=90051_Privacy&siteId=90051#xHTMLContentcific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Furthermore, all employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Our employees are regularly notified and reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customers’ information is protected.
Finally, the servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
If you have questions about the security at our website, please contact us via email
Nevada law allows Nevada residents to opt-out of the sale of certain types of personal information. We do not currently sell personal information as defined in the Nevada law. However, if you are a Nevada resident, you still may submit a verified request to opt-out of sales and we will record your instructions and incorporate them in the future if our policy changes. Opt-out requests may be sent here or by calling 1-888-294-1648.
